Use the link prided to download your custom installer for Windows
When the download finishes click the arrow to the right and choose “Show in folder” or navigate to your downloads folder to view the downloaded file
Double click on Medihost Installer
Right click on install.bat and choose "Run as administrator"
If you see the following window
Click - more info
Choose "Run Anyway"
You will see the following - when finished press any key to close the window
The following icons will appear on your desktop
To connect to your server double click on the Cisco icon
Sign in with your user name and password (These are the same as your server credentials)
Double click on you "server icon" and login as you would from the office
- Enter your username and password.
This is the same user/password combination you just used to connect to the Cisco VPN.
You can click to “Remember Me” if you are the only person that uses this computer.

Your download link will contain the following 3 files
- Cisco AnyConnect Windows installer file.
- Your customised practice XML file.
- Your customised practice RDP file.
Your download will contain the installer file for the Cisco AnyConnect software. Please run this installer.
A window will open with the installation file “anyconnect.pkg”, double click on the install icon.
Run through the steps of the installer, on the “Custom Install” screen de-select all the options except for the VPN
Enter your password when prompted and the install process will begin.
During the install process some pop ups will appear regarding a security preference, click the “Open preferences” button which will open up the system preferences window, on that screen click the “Allow” button. (if this window does not come up it can be found in
“System Preferences -> Security and Privacy -> General”
When done you will be presented with this screen.
Next open up a Finder Window
Navigate to the Menu bar at the top of the screen and select
On the window that pops up, enter “/opt/“
Then in the Finder window that opens, navigate through to “Cisco -> anyconnect -> profile”
Copy the YOURPRACTICE.xml file you downloaded into this folder, macOS will prompt you for a password to move this file to this location for security purposes.
Open the Cisco AnyConnect Client (located in Applications -> Cisco)
We suggest dragging the icon onto your dock for ease of access next time.
When the application opens, click the connect button.
Enter your Medihost username and password (to be provided to you by your practice manager), you will then be presented with an authentication screen, click Accept to proceed
When connected you should see in the dock the icon now has a small lock icon in the corner.
Install Microsoft Remote Desktop
Follow this link to download Microsoft Remote Desktop Client from the app store
Download the customised “YOURPRACTICE.RDP” Remote Desktop file using the customised dropbox link at the start of this document. We suggest saving this to your mac’s desktop.
You will be prompted for a username and password; these details are the same as the credentials used earlier for the Cisco VPN.
